*Nigerians Destroying Nigerians: A Cry for Liberation* In the heat of the midday sun, where shadows refuse to hide the truth, we must ask ourselves: what has become of us? Nigerians have turned their knives inward, carving scars deep into their own flesh. We cry out for change, yet celebrate the very chains that bind us.
Fraudsters...Yahoo boys, as they’re called...roam the streets with swagger.
They are thieves cloaked in designer suits, worshiped by the desperate and envied by the naive. They prey on the weak, scamming strangers across oceans.
But it is here, in their homeland, that they are crowned as kings. Mothers bless them; fathers toast to their "success." Communities give them seats of honor, a slap in the face of every man and woman breaking their backs for an honest meal.
And then there are the politicians. Ah, the politicians. The architects of our despair. They rob us blind, but we cheer as they parade through our towns, tossing crumbs from their tables.
They steal futures, yet we bow to them. We make them chiefs, guardians of the same culture they’ve desecrated with greed. What does that say about us? What does it mean when the thief is exalted and the victim applauds?
We are complicit. Every election, we return these scoundrels to power, knowing full well they will bleed us dry.
The price of rice goes up, but our dignity comes cheap. A bag of salt, a few naira notes, a shallow promise, and we sell not just our votes but our very souls.
How did we come to this? Are we cursed, or are we simply blind? We condemn corruption with our lips while our hearts and hands embrace it. We lament our plight but do nothing to change it.
The average Nigerian has become a walking contradiction, a prophet of accountability who worships the altar of rot.
But this cannot go on. It must not. For every man and woman reading this, there is still a choice to be made.
Do we continue to plunge deeper into this abyss, or do we claw our way out into the light? This nation will not be saved by foreign aid or divine intervention. It will be saved when Nigerians decide that enough is enough.
Reject the Yahoo boy. Shun the corrupt politician. Stop glorifying men and women who thrive on the misery of others.
Ask the hard questions. Demand better. Hold yourself accountable first, for integrity is not a spectator sport. It begins in your home, your heart, your daily actions.
Nigeria will rise when Nigerians choose to rise, not on the backs of the corrupt, but on the strength of their own conviction.
The choice is yours. Will you fight for liberation, or will you applaud your own destruction?
The time for pretense is over. Stand up, or remain a slave to the chains you kissed.
