Dokubo revealed this on Arise TV’s Morning Show, recounting a long-standing relationship with Tinubu dating back to the military era.

“I supported Mr. President because I knew him long before he held high offices," Dokubo said. "This isn’t about me or Tinubu—it’s about my people. When I speak for them, I step aside as an individual.

My relationship with Tinubu was strong, and it was one-way traffic—only he gave; I never could repay him."

The former militant reflected on how he returned the favor during Tinubu's presidential campaign. "If he runs again, I’ll stand by him, ” Dokubo claimed. “Because when Obasanjo buried me, Tinubu stood firm. That’s something I’ll never forget.”
