Asari Dokubo , former leader of Ijaw Youth Worldwide , issued a stark warning to President Bola Tinubu and Minister Nyesom Wike, cautioning them that any move to unseat Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara would come with severe consequences.
Dokubo shared his views in an interview on Arise Television, expressing his disappointment with Tinubu’s support of Wike in what he perceives as an effort to destabilize Rivers State.
"With Tinubu as president, I expect to speak truthfully about the situation in Rivers,” Dokubo stated.
“It’s disappointing to see the president allow his minister to manipulate judgments and threaten the peace of our state.”
Dokubo emphasized his position as a stakeholder in Rivers and reiterated his warning: “They aim to remove Fubara, thinking nothing will come of it. But I’m telling them now—if Fubara is removed, there will be consequences.”
The tension between Fubara and Wike, once political allies, has become a struggle for control over the state's political structure, leading to considerable fallout.
Both the APC and PDP faced major losses in the recent LGA elections—a testament to the shifting landscape in Rivers.
